National Cardiac Centre’s research team participates with several scientific papers in the Africa STEMI live Conference.

Sudan was represented by a significant number of consultants, specialists, physicians, and pharmacists in the field of cardiology during their participation in the African STEMI live, organized by the African Heart Association from May 4 to 7, 2022, in Nairobi, Kenya.

The conference featured a series of scientific and training lectures on the latest advancements in cardiology, in addition to presenting recent statistics and programs supporting the development of cardiac healthcare.

Most of Sudan’s contributions came from representatives of the National Cardiac Centre and Al_Shaab Teaching Hospital. The cardiac Center presented three scientific papers, which were selected among the top ten research abstracts from a large number of submissions.

During the conference’s abstract presentation sessions, Dr. Majdoleen Bashir Abdelrahim Bashir (Internal Medicine Registrar) received the award for Best Abstract and Presentation among all the submitted research papers.

 

The conference concluded on May 7, where the head of the Sudanese delegation, Dr. Salah Al-Basha, Director General of the National Cardiac Center, affirmed that the Center’s participation in this conference marks a true beginning for its engagement in research and the exchange of scientific expertise regionally and internationally. He added that this participation in this conference consider as important step in the right direction toward building a research capacity that supports policies decision-making process.
